Project Background

Our client is an international automotive Tier‑1 supplier developing multiple ICE and new‑energy vehicle platforms, requiring four major series of custom rubber parts:

  1. Automotive lamp rubber parts: headlamp rear rubber covers, breathable rubber caps, lamp sealing gaskets, weather‑strips and rubber plugs to eliminate lamp fogging, water ingress and balance internal air pressure.

  2. Engine‑compartment rubber parts: corrugated air intake hoses, dust boots and suspension bushings to withstand high temperature and oil contamination under‑hood conditions.

Project Implementation

1. Requirement Review & Material Selection

Upon project kick‑off, KINGTOM cross‑functional team (R&D, material engineering, quality, tooling) reviewed customer drawings, working conditions and environmental test specifications.We selected proper rubber polymers for each application: modified EPDM for lamp breathable components; NBR for oil‑resistant engine‑bay parts; EPDM for wiring‑harness insulation; flame‑retardant modified EPDM & silicone rubber for NEV battery‑system parts. 2. Tooling Design & Prototype Sampling

3. Full‑scale Reliability Validation (CNAS‑accredited Lab)

4. PPAP Submission & Pilot Run

After sample validation passed, full PPAP documentation package was submitted. Pilot serial runs were carried out to verify assembly performance, dimensional consistency and process stability; process parameters were fine‑tuned based on client feedback.

5. Mass‑Production Delivery

Once pilot production was fully approved, full‑volume manufacturing was launched with strict in‑process quality control, achieving stable delivery and maintaining automotive‑grade low PPM failure rates.
